我主要专注于利用稳定同位素地球化学来探究地球系统的多个不同的方面——尤其渴望对于在地质学、生物学及全球/区域气候变化相互关联及作用的领域展开探索。我主要的研究经历在于创建、发展新兴的高精度稳定同位素测试方法(如:三氧同位素、团簇同位素)并将其应用于不同的地球体系中,以同位素的分馏或团簇现象的形成和消褪来制约地球物质转化过程中的化学热动力学平衡或扰动状态,从而见微知著,诠释全球的物质循环及环境变化。具体研究方向包括:(1)C-H-O-S同位素体系研究俯冲带流体活动及相关元素分异和深部物质循环。(2)15N15N团簇同位素示踪行星大气圈的演化。(3)三氧同位素对于全球水汽循环及局域古湿度古水文的制约。(4)碳酸盐13C18O团簇同位素用于古气候中的测温。(5)13C-D, D-D双团簇同位素体系示踪甲烷成因。
